Wisdom Teeth Extractions

Wisdom teeth are third molars that usually appear between the ages of 16 and 25 at the back of the mouth.
Wisdom teeth can grow unnoticed until they start to cause issues in the mouth.
They are commonly extracted when they affect other teeth – this is known as “impacted wisdom teeth”.
Wisdom teeth are extracted either because they have already become impacted or because they are potentially problematic.
The extraction of wisdom teeth can be a troublesome procedure.

Dr Patel has been my dentist for more than 30 years now. I have had practically every procedure he performs at one time or another. Besides the general cleanings every 6 months by his hygienist; I have had fillings, root canals, crowns, and wisdom teeth pulled by Dr. Patel. I thoroughly trust my dentist and know he is not trying to do additional work just to get more revenue for his office. If he says I need to have work done by him or be referred to a dental specialist; I know it is necessary and just have it done. My Family and I have been a client of Dr. Patel for well over two decades. I have watched his practice grow from having just him and Mrs. Patel working at the office (which was in the early 1990's), having two convenient locations (Hayward and San Jose), to having dozens and dozens of employees including interns. He has one of the top Dentistry's in all of the San Francisco Bay Area as he has not only received numerous awards, but also gives back to the community. He even takes time out of his busy schedule to volunteer as he started a non-profit organization some years back called "Smiles For Humanity" which provides International Volunteer Services to Impoverished Areas. Dr. Patel and his staff are extremely professional, patient, understanding and of course, very friendly. They definitely go the extra mile to ensure that you are comfortable and provide superiority care during your visit as well as contacting you for post-office follow-up phone calls to ensure your appointment went smoothly. His facility is not only state of the art, but very clean and family friendly, with a color synchronized atmosphere! I am also pleased to see that he offers top of the line technology used for patient x-rays (which is done in seconds), scheduling and sending reminders of appointments via e-mail and even mobile. I seriously and highly recommend the care provided by Dr. Patel and his extremely qualified and diligent Dental staff! I totally have to agree with the previous Yelp reviewer that "In a nutshell Dr Patel is a "perfectionist" if you want to cut out the middle man and go straight to the best, see Dr. Atul Patel" and you will not be disappointed!! I certainly can attest to this as I have been his patient for well over twenty-plus years!! I would give this place 10 - stars if I could! This place is amazing. From start to finish went smooth and quite awesome I might add. Last week was my appointment for a deep cleaning. I am a new patient so I did not know what to expect. I went in optimistic. My appointment was last week. The day prior, Maritza called me to confirm my appointment which I totally forgot (Thanks Maritza=). The next day, I came in, got checked in right away and my waiting time was at least 20 - 30 minutes at the most (which is usually the average wait time). The receptionist was very nice and professional! Dr. Patel greeted me with complete gratitude. He was very nice (not like other dentists I know). He made sure I was comfortable and explained everything he did that day before even starting. He is very intelligent and knows all about oral health! After he did my deep cleaning, he made sure I was informed of what I needed not to do and sent me on my way. I will come here again. I have had worse experience with dental offices and this by far has been the most easiest and simplest process ever and I can't thank them enough for giving me a quick, smooth experience. True story - I'm terrified of the dentist. By the time I was a sophomore in high school, I'd had way more than my fair share of time in the dentists chair ranging from extractions to more rounds of braces than I can count etc. The dentist just isn't my cup of tea. Enter Dr. Patel. After a visit to their San Jose office, it was discovered that my crown and filling weren't cutting it and needed to be redone. So I begrudgingly scheduled an appointment in their Hayward office to get "tortured". Toral was great at helping me put my mind at ease and ultimately I decided to forgo the sedation (which meant I needed a driver to and from) and just go with the laughing gas. I was insanely nervous and as I sat in the chair, my body fought the laughing gas. I have no clue what Dr. Patel did, but all of a sudden I was off in la la land, which was exactly where I needed to be. I have very vague memories of the experience, but all of them are absolutely 100% painless. I would like to personally say thank you to Ann, my personal person during the whole procedure. She was phenomenal and dealt with some really strange requests from me. I felt taken care of from A-Z - everyone was kind and professional and helped me feel at ease, even when I felt like I was going to have a panic attack. I was so impressed and pleased when they were able to get everything done all at once and I didn't have to come back to get the permanent crown put in. Thank you so much Dr. Patel and staff!

I've had several visits with Dr Patel, including a tooth extraction and bone graft in prep for implant, and now a crown. He is quick and precise, and his work is very good.
